XVI.B.4.c. CP24
CP 24 is farther from the PSII reaction center than CP29 and CP26. Cp24 has a Chl a/b ratio of 1-1.6 Akerlund, 1993). It consists of an apoprotein of 20 kDa. It appears to have two hydrophobic membrane-spanning helixes (Rebeiz, unpublished).
A query for CP24 addressed to the various protein databases listed in the Biology Workbench, yielded 15 records which are depicted under Sequenced CP24. These sequences can be used for Sequence Similarity Searches or other manipulations using one of several routines described in the Biology Workbench or elsewhere (see AntheproW which can be downloaded via anonymous ftp from: ibcp.fr; pub/Antheprot/Windows/anthe 3_1 directory). For example a Blast Sequence Similarity Search of the maize CP24 addressed to the Biology Workbench (SwissProt database) is depicted below.
